5 Life-changing Health Technologies at CES 2018

The TDWI Team went to CES looking for health technologies that really stood out (frankly, we are more than a bit tired of fitness wearables). We scoured the exhibit floors to find some cool new stuff to share with you. Here are the technologies we feature in this video:

Sleep Number's Sleep 360 smart bed that measures your sleep biometrics without you having to do anything but...sleep. These measurements are uploaded to the cloud and, using Sleep Number's proprietary algorithm, generate a daily Sleep IQ number for you--the higher the number, the better you slept. If you combine this information with information from your personal Internet of Things ecosystem, you will be able to learn what correlates with good or bad sleep. Here's a link to our full story on the bed: https://thedoctorweighsin.com/how-a-smart-bed-can-help-you-learn-to-sleep-better/

The next gizmo that caught our eye was the Kyon electronic dog collar. If your dog sometimes misbehaves (like mine does), this is the collar for you. It has a LED function so it can tell strangers who find your dog wandering off trail what his name is and how to reach you. It can track him, shhh him, pacify him, and much more. Here is a link to our video interview with the Kyon folks: https://youtu.be/JSbMCpzgYq0

We first heard about Halo Neuroscience at the Digital Health Summit that is part of the overall CES17 meeting. Founder Dr. Daniel Chao (@danielchao) participated in a panel on digital health and athletic performance (so much better than using performance enhancing drugs). Watch our full video interview with him to learn how the Halo Neurosciences' (@HaloNeuro device) can stimulate the motor cortex and lead to better athletic performance. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSbMCpzgYq0&t=9s

RightEye's booth was one on those smaller ones that you could too easily pass by. We are so glad we didn't because we learned how their eye tracking technology is helping doctors make early diagnoses of a variety of medical conditions, such as autism and Parkinson's disease. Dr. Melissa Hunfalvay, Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder of RightEye (melissa@righteye.com) explains how it works in this video interview: https://youtu.be/kQDjgZ-Tfoc

Finally, in the health and beauty section of the show, we found Suki Dunham, CEO of OhMiBod, a technology-enabled pleasure and sexual wellness company. Suki told us about one of their award-winning products, Lovelife Krush (http://www.lovelifetoys.com/Lovelife-Krush). It is a device that works with a companion app to help women learn to do Kegel exercises correctly. These exercises are performed to strengthen pelvic floor muscles so that women who have given birth won't develop urinary continence later in life. ENJOY!
